1)I read something like 70-80% of hindu military spendings(things like military pension,para-military are covered under other non-military sounding items) are spent on manpower ,leave little for ammos stockpile,R&D and maintenance infra

2)The hindu armed forces is a holy cow whose growing size no politicians can touch, an establishment unto itself.I couldn't help but laughed my butt off when some yrs ago I read some BRs called the PRC and PLA a junta.

Ideally,the hindu army could be cut to 1/3 of its size,mechanised and still do the jobs,however it seems Modi,the most popular hindu honcho in1/2 a century will get a rebellion at hand if he tries it
