All they have now are tourism and bubbly real estate transactions.  When China started to open up decades ago, HK should have realized that sooner or later the economy that based on being the gateway to China will  deflate.  HK should have thought about the next stage where it will take China decades to catch up.  it is too late.

I will always remember how arrogant the HKers were.  Pretty much looked down on all ethnic Chinese  whether from mainland China or anywhere else.
