Those US war hawks are fooling egg heads who know nothing about South China Sea.  They confuse contested islands and non contest islands in South China Sea. The so called Woody island is called Yong Xing island, a non contested island where China have been using for thousand of years and have air strip more than 30 years, and with a municipal complex in it. Philippine never know there is such an island, and Vietnam never claim that island.  So what is the problem for China to put in air strip and lately anti aircraft HQ9?  Is it not like putting weapon in Hawaaian island?  Not knowing yourself and your opponent and going into conflict will get you into a fatal surprise, from Sun Tze's teaching.
