I want to put the following message on discussion sites on mainland China. Anyone has links to popular sites?

===============

Recently, a 3-year-old Chinese girl fell to her death while playing on an escalator in Kunming. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-Bwh7zEvUk Similar accidents had happening before. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRHj3mAUVDo

In these cases, the children held onto the moving hand-rails and got lifted over the sides of the escalator and then fell. Such accidents can be avoided by some simple design change. Covers can be placed over the curved parts of all moving hand-rails up to the point where a small child cannot reach. Or/and, barriers can be erected just behind the curved parts of the moving hand-rails to prevent children from being lifted over the sides.

Also, I have noticed that in some buildings escalators are placed in such a way that, even if you fell from them, you could not fall more one floor, while in many open-style ones you could fall 10 floors to your death. The former is clearly safer than the latter.
