I would say this according to my unplanned observations: Inidia on the one hand, often tends to falsely claimed the achievements, or abilities and excessively express their pride without any true substance aka hyperbole.  Or Bullsh11t?  Moreover, India is a very good at self-promotion, miss-representation but in truth, India has a very limitted ability.  For instance, The Tejas Mark 1-A is slightly more proficient than the first-cut home-made LCA, the Tejas, but the aircraft still has some flaws. It had earlier agreed to induct 40 Tejas', an aircraft that India's national auditor CAG said had severe flaws with "shortfalls in meeting the engine thrust and other parameters such as weight of the aircraft, fuel capacity, pilot protection from front against 7.62 mm bullets."

The IAF agreed to induct the flawed aircraft to keep the Tejas programme alive. For one, there are doubts about its ability to carry the required payload of weapons. Also, its Indian-made radar needs to be replaced with an Israeli radar.  Excessive Expression of Pride is usually the case for many Indians. However, on the positive side, India is not a threat because they like to brag about a lot things they don't have or not capable of unlike China. Why?

The People's Repubic on the other hand, likes to hide her true capability, while quitetly acquires new weapon systems.  When The People's Republic works on her 6th or 7th generation fight jets, India might very well still be working on its 5th gen (CMA?)

The Phrase "China Threat" can be real because her humility or it can also be just a Propaganda!
