and assimulate to the society and be one which Chinese people did not have problem with that. Infact, they have been treated as true compatriots in Thailand, and they enjoy the success and privillege just like any Thai citizens; but in Laos, there has never been any law maby be because the number of Ethnic Chinese was too small comparing to Thailand over 7 million. I have never heard of massive anti-chinese in the past. Good luck.
