per Wikipedia is 185,765 and per Lao offical figures 300,000 and the true figure could be higher since it is so easy to fake documents in Laos. Prior to 1975 there was only 100,000 spread throughout the country, but after 1975 only 10,000 left and now the number rises again. Viets, Cambodians are also immigrating to Laos.
