Neither Laos has the desire nor the mean to fight in any war and let alone for them to want to get involve. All the big boys have their own agenda/interest and I would not assume they are giving assistance out of kindness or sympathy. If they give you something, they also expect something in return. China has currently been playing an important role in Laos. U.S will never get the same influence again like they did in the past because their time was over long ago. Vietnam would be a potential threat to China if it desires to have close military relations with America. Laos will be totally excluded from any hypothetical conflict among major powers and Laos needs good relation with China more than with U.SHistorically, Lao people also came from China from Yunan province according to our CMFer BBC. The French and the American will not ever ragain their foothold again. There is even a rumor that possibly 50,000 Chinese to live in Laos.
