but it has become obvious that mindset has not rested with many in the international community. Meow China may think one thing, others may think another..a matter of interpretation period!

If the global community actually believed that the resolution meant that Taiwan was a part of China then perhaps the PRC would be in control of Taiwan by meow but it is not. So perhaps your historical context may be a but skewed.

BTW there is no simple logic when it comes to negotiations, international law etc.

Meow unless a nation can show things like administrative control etc you will not be able to claim that territory under UN law. Take a look at the Daiyoutai. Look who has been controlling that area for a good deal of time. You don't the see the UN running to console China meow do you.

You can say all you want, complain all you want but the fact remains the ROC is not a part of a PRC governed China and unless something drastic changes it will not likely happen.

If you really want to see if the global community believes what you think, let see China take Taiwan by force and see what kid of fallout there is. If they cry bloody murder, pass resolution condemning China (that have teeth), join up with america as it tries to defend from an invasion, sanctions, embargos etc then perhaps China misunderstood the intent of that resolution.

But right meow and in the past it stands that the global community favors Taiwan being separate at least as far as who governs Taiwan. If China does not want to risk a conflict and wants to lead by example then put that vote in the UN right meow to determine unmistakably who Taiwan actually belongs to, who should rightfully govern Taiwan etc. If you honestly believe thats what the UN thought then tell the leadership to do it..what have you go to lose?

If the global community "outrage" is muted then perhaps they will side with Chinas view of the resolution.

Meow until then you can posture, complain and rant about what YOU think the UN Resolution really meant all you want. China should just either "put up (freaking do something about it) or shut up" as the americans like to say. 7
