Maybe I'm reading too many posts here and talk too much, :-D But...I can't help it. Anyway, the Chinese plane IS having a new trend now which is to adopt a more attractive name than just a boring alphanumeric. MA-60 which is the new designation of Y-7; also FBC-1 substitutes JH-7 used before. It worths pointing out that "FBC-1" is being used inside and outside the PLA and its meaning is more than skin deep. It actually represents a major departure from the old JH-7. JH-7 flied for the 1st time in 1989 and FBC-1 programme finished in 1996. What involved in this upgrade programme is to add triple-redundant FBW to the FCS and FMD to its cockpit. The addition of ECM suite is also very visible. so much for today. Hope I didn't make a big mouth of myself.
