I think the point here is not whether the T-98 is ready or not for mass production but rather related to its prohibitive costs. If China decided to put it into full production(although I don't think that's the case), I'm not sure how much of it can translate into growth in term of its overall capability and what this message would mean to its allergic neighbors, not to mention whether this big-ticket investment is in compliant with the current national defense trend which IMO is to move and utilize the resources from land to air and sea power.I still think 88C is quite adequate and practical for the current state of PLA.
