I don't know the tricks Corsair used to check it, but here's what i can tell:

- The vertical tails seem to be identical. But somehow, they don't appear to be pointing in the same direction as the airplane - they point a little bit too much to the right. This is best to be seen on the front end of the leading edge of the left fin - it starts way too close to the aircraft's centerline, especially when compared to the distance between the two fins.
- The coloring around the cockpit doesn't look real, and it seems that the artist wanted to have a second cockpit but didn't finish it. The same with the 'danger' markings around the intakes.
- The ailerons/flaps on the wing are redicilous. That size would give huge drag when used, probably causing the aircraft to fall like a brick when flying at low speed. Also is the place of the roundel wrong with wings like that. I believe they usually are parralel with the wing's trailing edge
- The S002 on the tail does not only look very fake (wrong angle!) but also does not fit in any Chinese system. Especially since the pic was taken at an operational airbase: the aircraft is parked in a revetment (that's a parking lot protected by hills or walls) with another Q-5 parked in another revetment which would be very, very unlikely at a testbase.
- There don't seem to be any true operational improvements: the nose still looks like the basic Q-5 nose, no extra pylons, no wingtip launchers.

It is definately a fake, hope you're not too dissapointed!

Regards,

Arthur
