You're talking about giving 320 tanks to an army, by the time of 1949, number between 3 to 5 million. That's nothing! The Germans had like at least 3,000 tanks to 3 million men, the Americans like tens of thousands of tanks. I'm sure they're good fire support, but not instrumental in the victory. Ditto for the artillery.
