Kinda reminds me, we had the World Petroleum Congress in Calgary yesterday. A bunch of hippies were all preparing their banners and crap and going for a repeat of the Seattle WTO fiasco. Scared the hell out of the police(the were around the city the entire week nailing down manhole covers and instructing businesses to take their stuff inside), but it turned out noone supported the hippies: Barely 300 people turned up for the protest, and when they did, people jeered at them and yelled at them to go home when they tied up traffic in one of their little marches. Most of them decided to evaporate before the police(who outnumbered them 2 to 1) got bored enough to try out their new batons/gasguns/tanks. The congress went on without a hitch.
Way to go CCPD!
