There was a report that said the Indian raised the issue with the Chinese side, who denied and suggested the Indian to go ahead and shoot down the UFO.

Army retreats after boffins prove bright lights are planets, not Chinese aircraft
By Phil Muncaster, 26th July 2013

Some eagle-eyed astronomers have saved the planet from possible nuclear Armageddon after the Indian army mistook Jupiter and Venus for flying intruders from China.

Two star-gazers from the Indian Institute of Astrophysics in Bangalore were sent over 1,400 miles to Ladakh near the disputed border with China at the behest of the army, which had been observing the UFOs since August 2012, Calcutta’s Telegraph has reported.

Between that time and February 2013 the Indian military had observed 329 sightings of unidentified objects at Thakung near the border with Tibet.

The objects were thought to have crossed the Line of Actual Control shared between the two nuclear-armed nations 155 times. What may have confused onlookers was that due to the high altitude the planets apparently appeared much brighter than usual.

One is said to have appeared on the horizon between 6pm and 5am while the other was visible from 4am-11am.

“Our task was to determine whether these unidentified objects were celestial or terrestrial,” senior astronomer Tushar Prabhu, told the paper.

After using a theodolite to measure the horizontal and vertical location of the objects, the astronomers decided they definitely belonged to the former category.

The army’s concerns about flying insurgents from China are not without merit, given the Middle Kingdom’s increasing use of unmanned drones in the area.

The India-China Joint Mechanism on border issues met for talks in Delhi on Tuesday after months of ratcheting tensions following a stand-off back in April when Chinese troops camped deep inside Indian territory.

The disputed Himalayan border between the two countries even sparked a war in 1962. ®

India's army reportedly spent six months watching "Chinese spy drones" violating its air space, only to find out they were actually Jupiter and Venus.

Tensions have been high in the disputed Himalayan border area between the two nations in recent years, with India frequently accusing its neighbour of making incursions onto its territory. Things came to a head during a stand-off in April when Chinese troops were accused of erecting a camp on the Indian side of the de facto boundary known as the Line of Actual Control (LAC). By that stage, Indian troops had already documented 329 sightings of unidentified objects over a lake in the border region, between last August and February, according to the Calcutta-based Telegraph.

It quotes military sources as saying the objects violated the LAC 155 times. So, the army called the Indian Institute of Astrophysics to identify the objects. "Our task was to determine whether these unidentified objects were celestial or terrestrial," astronomer Tushar Prabhu told the paper. Only once the objects' movements were noted in relation to the stars were they identified as planets. The Telegraph suggests the sentry ought to be forgiven, with planets appearing brighter as a result of the different atmosphere at altitude and the increased use of surveillance drones.

I think China should send drones (those that look like both planets) up

Do hindu soldiers have binoculars? Jupiter with it's 4 galilean moons(Io, europa, ganymede and callisto) are visible to hand-held binoculars and saturn with it's rings is elliptical. Any boso with a pair of binoculars and have spent sometime at nite in the field can tell. Why do they need someone from the  'Indian Institute of Astrophysics'?  My conclusion is those must be chicom flying saucers.

I forgot, another important point, planets only drift(relatively) slowly across the sky, not aircrafts. So those must be chicom flying saucers with gravo-electromagnetic drive that can seemingly stay at the spot for more than a few minutes
