"When we fight for Black people, Black people fight for us. This was written by a Black scholar who vouched for our history and narratives to be given a seat at the table. They've fought for us more than most of us know because as with every group of color to enter the shores of America, one people have routinely defended us... Black people.
We fought side by side as brothers and sister at many periods of American history. That was until White supremacist created the model minority myth and as a way out and to advance ourselves so that we can face less discrimination we Asians betrayed Black people for our own personal gain. And since the 60's we've been complicit in racism against them especially with our collective inaction to their suffering. That betrayal is a deep wound but it can be healed. We just need to accept responsibility for that betrayal."
